[edit] Finding the Trail Head
Take Lookout Mountain Rd. west of Golden to Windy Saddle. To reach the Genesee end, take I-70 to the Chief Hosa Exit, right on Chief Hosa, and right on Stapleton Dr., which winds down to the parking lot.
[edit] Description
This hiker only trail is steep in places, but mostly stays at a reasonably constant elevation. It ends at the Genesee Mountain Park nature trail (0.3 miles from the parking lot). The distance given is one way.
[edit] Experience
This is a great early season hike. It's low enough to be snow free in the spring, level enough to be good training, but varied enough terrain and vegetation to be interesting.
None of our little group has been all the way to the Genesee Park end.
