[edit] Finding the Trail Head
Take C-479 south, west on US-285, right on S. Turkey Creek Rd. into the parking lot (under the highway).
[edit] Description
The trail forms a set of loops stacked one on top of another providing hikes of varying lengths. The longest trail starts in Aspens and winds up into the pines and back. In the lower reaches, wild flowers including Scarlet Paintbrush, Blue Colombine, and Wood Lilies are abundant. In the upper parts of the trail, Pinedrops can be found in mid-Summer.
[edit] Experience
The trail is beautiful, but the noise of cars, trucks, and motorcycles on US-285 is very distracting and doesn't fade until the highest reaches of the trail. On the western side of the trail, there is a stand of some of the largest Aspens we've seen on any of our hikes.
